These Rules apply to everyone playing Jailbreak.
If you need this explained, you probably should not be playing Jailbreak. Do not interpret rules in an unreasonable manner.
Admins are making sure all the Blues have microphones, if an Admin tells you to get off mic, please do so unless your name is called. This allows for the Admin to quickly do the mic check and then allow the round to carry on as normal.
When the Warden is speaking, do not talk over them. This allows the Warden to clearly give orders without being interrupted.
Do not try to give commands to the Red Team while you are not the Warden.
You cannot stay in armoury for an extended period of time.
You cannot provoke opposite team members to attack you or get in their melee range on purpose. Prisoners are not to be killed when attacking someone who is baiting, as long as they are attacking them from within the Warden's specified minigame or location, or during transit to these locations, without detouring or delaying.
Examples: Being in melee range, using projectiles, Jarate / Mad Milk, Sticky Bombs, revving the Minigun, airblasting, scoping at them with a sniper rifle, joining them in a minigame, or charging the Classic/Bow.
You cannot hide or stay inactive with the intent of stalling the game.
Whichever order Warden gives last is the one that should be followed if two orders conflict. For example, if Warden says "Touching grass is KOS." but then gives you an order to stand on a marker in the grass, you must stand in the grass because the first order is nullified by the second.
You cannot give information about alive players while dead. Examples can include giving them answers in quiz games, revealing the remaining health of a player, or telling people where a player is located. Exceptions are made if the remaining players are ineligible for LR and delaying the game.
You cannot repeatedly claim 'freekill' when it clearly was not. If you are unsure whether it was a freekill, please refer back to the rules. If you are sure it was, make a report with video evidence from the start of the round. Complaining in chat will not solve anything.
Do not place any sticky traps as this can lead to delaying; they are completely banned. However, sticky launchers can still be used for sticky jumping or for spamming and promptly exploding them.
These rules apply to all the Reds/Prisoners. Breaking these rules make you KOS.
When an order is given, you must take the shortest and fastest route.
When asking for a repeat, you must remain AFK frozen until the repeat has been given.
Going into off limit places such as blue control rooms and alternate cell exits, or trying to reach these places by hitting breakable objects makes you a rebel. Personal freedays may enter control rooms but Warden may restrict this access. Control rooms are separate rooms that have the sole purpose of activating minigames.
The moment you have ammo, you are rebelling. This includes ammo glitching, which will lead to being punished.
Doing a taunt that can kill other players will make you KOS. However, the Rock Paper Scissors taunt is allowed.
Do not go out of your way to enter the melee range of an opposite team member to claim that they are baiting. On Freeday LRs, Blues may only swing their melee at Reds if baited. They may not shoot or chase Reds. However, they are permitted to order Reds to move out of the way (e.g. to allow them to move through a doorway).
During a personal freeday, you may not activate minigames or trap Blues by bodyblocking. You may not put non-rebel members of the Red Team in danger - such as by closing a door on them, activating a minigame while they are inside, or pushing them away from their destination when collisions are on. You may not open the cell doors.
If you open cells before Guards get the chance to reach the main cell area, you may be punished. Warden may order personal freedays to stay out of Blues' melee range. At which point, freeday Reds intentionally entering the melee range of the Blue Team for extended periods are baiting.
You are not allowed to break, go through, or use breakables that lead to or activate off-limit areas, such as alternate routes out of the cells, the armoury, or the prison's main round-ending exit. Breakables which activate rebel-only features such as ATMs on miami will also make you KOS.
When, for instance, ordered to complete 'Obstacle Course', 'Death Run' or 'Minefield', do not go around to the exit of the game and claim to have completed it, and do not completely avoid the main gameplay of a minigame.
Starting a minigame is defined as moving beyond its initial entrance area. For example, on most obstacle courses, you may enter the starting platform, but you have not 'started' until you attempt the first jump or hazard. Similarly, on a game like Climb, you may go up the initial ladder or teleport in, but you have not 'started' until you begin moving further into the course.
If the Warden orders you to "start" a minigame, you must proceed past the entrance area. If the Warden says to go to a game but "do not start", you may only enter the initial area and must not proceed further. If the Warden simply orders Reds to "get inside" a minigame, Reds may choose for themselves whether to start or not, until the Warden gives a more specific order.
No camping in unreachable areas to delay the round or hide. This includes special days such as hide and seek. An example is the Tardis. This also includes building in areas such as Climb during LRs like VSH, as that prevents the Hale from reaching the player.
You can attempt to talk your way out of being KOS, but if you do get killed, do not whine about it or try to re-interpret the rules to make yourself right.
Reds who choose a custom LR are allowed to pick a single game (that follows the restrictions below) and a single modifier. A modifier is a specific change applied to the selected game. For example, "Hunger Games, no medic building." Choosing to do a minigame "all day" is considered a valid modifier. If a Red picks multiple games and/or modifiers, only the first of each is considered for the valid LR; the rest are ignored.
You may not restrict player classes, communications, target individuals, or do anything that impedes normal gameplay to others (like forcing players to crouch). All custom LRs must be possible and reasonable for the average player to complete to be valid.
These rules apply to all the Guards/Blues. Breaking these rules may result in a team-ban.
You are required to use your mic on the Blue Team. You cannot be on the Blue team if your voice is incomprehensible.
Do not join the Blue Team if you do not want to be Warden. You can only use the '!uw' command to 'un-warden' if you have been Warden for the last three rounds. You have to get give out real orders whenever you are Warden. You also cannot give random Freedays when you are Warden. You have to give orders before 9:00, otherwise the round will be a Freeday.
Freekilling is when a Blue kills a Red who is not KOS or baiting, illegally. Freekilling is also inherently causing a Red to die illegally (for example, giving orders as a regular Guard which confuses Reds and gets them killed). Normal Reds cannot freekill other Reds but Blues and freeday Reds can freekill Reds. If a freeday Red kills another Red, they are considered a rebel (even if their freeday sparkles do not disappear) and may be killed. If a Blue freekills a Red, they should slay themself or they may be team-banned. It is considered a freekill to kill a Red after they pick their LR unless they rebel.
Note: Slaying yourself does not pardon the kill(s) and a staff member may still punish you.
If a freeday Red has not rebelled and has lasted until the end of the round - do not kill them, regardless of whether or not they have lost their invincibility upon an LR being given. If an LR can no longer be given during the round, the freedays should rebel or slay themselves, or may be killed to avoid delaying.
You cannot hit a Prisoner for no reason. This includes shortstop shoving. If a Red is freehit, they are entitled to be ordered to medic by the Warden before proceeding with a new order or minigame. Reds are also entitled to medic immediately before engaging in any HP reliant activity (i.e. Meat Grinder).
During Freedays or special rounds, do not stand in front of ladders, doorways, or other chokepoints in order to prevent Reds from getting past without baiting.
You are not allowed to camp or stay inside of secrets that lead to ammo or hidden armoury entrances. While hunting or chasing, you must actively move through and out of these areas once entered. Camping standard cell exits is permitted but hunt and chase permission is required to pursue a Red who has used a teleport to exit cells.
If you have disguised using 'Your Eternal Reward' or the 'Wanga Prick', remove it immediately.
Unless ordered otherwise by the Warden or during special rounds such as Hide and Seek, Guards may not search for a rebel without permission from the Warden unless the rebel is in the direct vicinity of the Guard. If the rebel escapes, the Guard must return to the Warden unless permission to chase was granted.
Blues are not allowed to take a Red's word to justify killing other players. They must witness any rebelling or other actions themselves before acting. However, Blues may take each other's words.
A Red can never be made KOS forcibly by either a Warden's order or another Red's action. This includes the Warden giving an order that would force a Red to rebel or giving an order that makes other Reds KOS based on the action of an individual (i.e. Bad Luck Day where if one Red in a cell rebels, all Reds are considered rebels). A Medic who heals a rebel is assisting a rebel intentionally and is therefore KOS, however, a Red being healed by a rebel Medic is not KOS because they cannot consent or stop that Medic from healing them.
If you are the last guard on the Blue Team, and not the Warden, you are obligated to kill the Prisoners upon sight, provided the Warden role is locked (this is announced in chat by the plugin). You cannot claim LGKA if you have used the '!uw' command, if it is First Day Freeday, or if it is an LR Freeday. Rules on favouring still apply.
No killing your teammates without first being provoked. This includes using props (i.e. bombs or a dodgeball) to kill other Guards.
If you have not received permission, do not activate buttons that interfere massively with the round, such as those within minigames or those which release Prisoners from the cells. Other griefing includes breaking map objects or triggers that give Reds an advantage or disadvantage, using or opening one-time secret passages, or grabbing single-use ammo packs. The only exception to this rule is Blues may break breakables to kill a rebel, so long as they are certain of the rebel's position, and have Warden's permission to hunt rebels.
If you participate in a freekilling spree, then you will be team-banned. Ignore the Warden's orders if they are telling you to freekill.
You cannot give specific players on the Red Team an advantage over the others. This could include pardoning them, giving them a free pass on a minigame for no reason while the remaining Reds are forced to play it, having uneven teams on team-based minigames, or allowing them to rebel with impunity.
If the Warden is about to give a repeat, currently doing a repeat, or the Prisoners are requesting a repeat, you cannot kill them. An exception is made when a Prisoner is rebelling.
Do not go into unreachable places to delay the round or avoid participating in it.
These rules apply solely to the round's Warden. Breaking these rules may result in a team-ban.
You cannot ask Prisoners to kill Guards and you cannot order a Red to their death. In addition, you cannot order Guards to kill Prisoners without a valid reason. this counts as a freekill on your part.
Warden may only enable friendly fire (FF) for valid reasons, such as Meat Grinder or Cell Wars. Do not enable FF at any other time, such as during other minigames or during Freeday for all. Warden must warn Reds if and when they will toggle FF.
Your orders have to be clear. For example, you cannot say "All deads go to the yellow line." Do not give orders that can be misinterpreted if just a single syllable is not heard. Your orders may not have conflicting or double meanings (refer to 'No conflicting orders'). This includes using markers to kill Reds intentionally.
You may never 'pardon' a Red for them to no longer be considered KOS. Once a Red rebels, they are considered as such until the round ends.
Warden issuing days (such as, but not limited to, No Jump Day, Lava Day, and Out of Cell Rebel Day) should be viewed as regular orders and do not need to explicitly be terminated by the Warden.
The Warden should not give orders that contradict previous ones. For example, telling Reds to "Stay off the grass" and then placing a marker on the grass with the order to "Follow markers". The Reds should follow the marker as it was the most recent instruction given, but it is the Warden's responsibility to ensure orders are clear and consistent. If the most recent order is "Go to the marker and AFK freeze", the Reds shall still continue to follow the markers, but make sure they know it is placed.
After that, you must not do that game for at least a round.
When the last Prisoner survives by following the orders, for example, winning a minigame that eliminated the other Prisoners, you have to give this person their 'Last Request'(LR). You cannot knowingly give LR to a rebel or a freeday Red. The only time you can delay giving the last surviving, non-rebelling prisoner LR is if you have specified beforehand that they have to finish the current minigame. You may not utilise 'Last Guard Kills All' to avoid giving a Red LR. If you are the last Blue, you are obligated to go Warden to give the last non-rebelling Red their LR.
You must give a repeat if asked, or if you were being talked over while giving your order. If you are asked for a repeat and nobody talks over you, you only need to give one repeat per order. Before repeating your order, inform the players that you will be giving a repeat and anyone talking over your orders will be KOS; you may also use the Warden menu to mute players while giving your repeat. Your final repeat is when you are able to give your order clearly and without interruption after being asked.
These games should only be used as a decider when there are fewer Prisoners left after playing a different minigame. Intentionally playing a quick or trivial minigame to play Meat Grinder or Arena early is not allowed. For the purposes of this rule, Cell Wars does not count as a minigame.
You cannot rename Reds to something different, only address them as 'Reds' or 'Prisoners'.
You cannot force yourself to be Warden more than three times in a row. This rule is void if you are making sure that the AFK member of the team does not get chosen or if someone is without a microphone on Blue.
Warden cannot lie when giving orders or answering the Reds' questions, as this can be confusing and it will be near impossible to tell which order is the correct order.
The Warden is not allowed to chain the following days: Hunger Games, Hide and Seek, or Warday. If the previous round was one of these days, the Warden must leave one normal round in between.
LRs allow days to be chained up to three times in a row.
Warden must define their own rules for the game, otherwise the default definition here is used.
In minigames, Warden may not impose limitations on Reds based on the progress made by other Reds. For example, "No speedrunning", "Reds must make progress together", or "Reds must stay with the group". This rule does not forbid orders such as "The first X Reds to finish live", or "Once X Reds have finished, the remaining Reds will have X time to finish."
Do not use the Line Laser to obscure areas, and do not allow other players to abuse the laser.
Here is a list of banned minigames.
• Shark
• Gladiator
• Shoot or don't shoot
• Pokemon
• Keyboard warriors
• Spelling Bee

You can become a Prisoner and either do as you are told or try to escape. Alternatively, play as a Guard and keep the Prisoners in check.
No moving, no usage of the mouse, and no taunting. Healing with a medigun counts as being AFK frozen.
Examples of not being AFK frozen: moving the mouse around (free looking), moving around in general, crouching, jumping, taunting, randomly swinging your weapon, or launching projectiles.
Note: The terms 'AFK' or 'AFM' are not used here and, if said, are equivalent to saying 'AFK freeze'.
AFK taunts are looping taunts that keep you in one place.
Run as fast as possible.
Free looking is to use your mouse to look around. When the Warden restricts free looking, you must not look around.
A freeday Red (or just a 'freeday') is a Prisoner who has been excluded from the day's activities, meaning they are free to roam around and are ineligible for LR. Rules in the Red Team section still apply to freedays; if they break any of these rules, they lose their freeday and become KOS.
Abbreviation of 'Kill on Sight'. Prisoners gain this status by breaking any of the Rules in the 'Red' section, attacking a non-baiting member of the Blue Team, or being defeated in a minigame where the Warden specifies that the losers are KOS. A Prisoner who is KOS shall be killed by members of the Blue Team at the earliest opportunity, and cannot receive LR.
A Last Request (usually abbreviated to LR) is usually given to the last surviving non-rebelling Red of the round (with some exceptions). They may then place a request for certain things to happen next round, such as giving people freedays, playing a specific minigame, or requesting a specific day. For a full list of LRs, click here.
The same as AFK freeze but you can use AFK (looping) taunts that keep you in one place.
The Warden must announce beforehand that they will be doing Cell Wars. During Cell Wars, friendly fire is turned on and Prisoners must kill their cellmates. There must be four or fewer Blues alive at round start to play this game.
This minigame cannot be played if there are more than eight Reds alive or if there are less than three Blues. The Reds will be given the chance to offer the Warden a meal. The Blues will then vote on whether it is a delicious meal or not. The Warden cannot decide alone. If a Warden gives an LR to a Red that has not participated in the minigame, they are favouring and can be reported. A vote of 50% counts as a pass for the Red player.
This minigame may only be played when there are less than 90 seconds remaining in the round or before map change (this also applies to "Do X for LR" orders). The Warden will announce they are starting the game then will give actions for the Reds to perform prefaced with "First/Last Reaction". If the Warden says "First Reaction", the first Red to perform the action is KOS. If the Warden says "Last Reaction", the last Red to perform the action is KOS.
All Prisoners must hide. Blues must stay in the armoury for at least one minute. Warden must announce when the Blues will Seek before leaving armoury. The last Prisoner alive wins the 'Last Request'. The minigame must be announced at the start of the round. Blues are allowed to break two-sided breakables when searching for Reds (i.e. vents or hidden rooms that can be teleported into and then broken out of); This does not include ammo or other secrets that can only be entered and exited through the same breakable.
If the game is selected from the Last Request menu and cells do not open on round start for whatever reason, Guards must wait at least an additional minute after cell doors are opened manually. Reds may still be shot from the armoury if they are seen rebelling (i.e. breaking into armoury or another breakable) but not when they are simply leaving the main cell area on round start. The Warden may end Hide and Seek early on a non-LR day to speed up the granting of a Last Request if time is running out.
All Prisoners must kill each other to earn the 'Last Request'. This minigame has to be announced at the start of the round and cannot be played two rounds in a row. Guards must remain in the armoury for at least two minutes before Warden can allow them to spectate. Exceptions can be made if a Prisoner kills another with ammo or if the prison exit is activated.
This minigame may only be played if the amount of Prisoners is equal to or less than the amount of podiums on the current map. Warden must define their own rules for the game otherwise the default definition below is used.
Reds must be behind their own player podium in Jeopardy at the start. Afterwards, the Warden must type a question in chat. The first Red to hit their podium button is given the opportunity to answer the question. If the Red answers the Warden's question correctly, they may choose another non rebelling Red to be killed. If the Red answers incorrectly they become KOS and may be killed. All questions asked must be TF2 related (gameplay or lore are both allowed) or simple maths (anything up to algebra, basic exponents, square roots of small numbers, etc.). This definition does not apply to Mass Trivia which is defined below.
Mass Trivia functions similar to Jeopardy but is used when there are more Reds than podiums on a map.
To play Mass Trivia, Wardens must line the Reds up in an area where they can all be visible individually at once. Afterwards, the Warden will type a question in chat. The first Red to answer the question correctly in chat may choose a non rebelling Red to be killed. There are no penalties for answering incorrectly. Like Jeopardy, questions are limited to being TF2 related or simple maths. Warden may order Reds to remain AFK frozen during the game if they want (which means if you answer correctly you type who you want killed, you do not run over and melee them).
Red players fight against one another within an area specified by the Warden or the map's predetermined location. It may not be played as the first minigame in a round; it should be used as a decider when there are fewer Prisoners left after another minigame (refer to 'Meat Grinder / Arena may not be played as the first minigame in a round'). All Reds must be at full health prior to starting this minigame.
Upon announcing the game, the Warden is now Simon and orders given shall only be followed if they are prefaced with 'Simon Says', otherwise they can be ignored and Guards should not kill based on these orders. The Warden still cannot use markers to kill Reds intentionally as Simon. Announcing the game's end is done by the Warden, and does not have to be prefaced with 'Simon says' either.
This minigame cannot be played if there are more than eight Reds or less than three Blues alive.
The Reds will be called to the stage one-by-one and asked whether they want to give a joke, have their hat rated, have their spray rated, or have their taunt rated. The Guards must vote in team chat once the player has chosen and performed the action they chose. The Warden cannot choose alone who lives or dies, and a vote of 50% counts as a pass for the Red player. All Reds must participate in this minigame before LR can be given. If a Warden gives LR to a Red that has not participated in the minigame, they are favouring and can be reported.
All Blues must go to an easily accessible location specified by the Warden, which is not closed off by a tiny choke or a teleport. Reds are released and encouraged to grab ammo, and Blues may only start roaming after the Reds have had at least two minutes to collect ammo, and the Warden has given permission. 'Last Request' cannot be earned. The minigame must be announced at the start of the round, and cannot be played two rounds in a row.
