Other Information

Have you managed servers previously?
Yes

If Yes, which ones? A while back, I managed a Minecraft server called "Sourcraft." I'll include details to contact the owner when the server was in operation for convenience.

Why do you want to become an admin? I want to become an admin because I feel like I owe the TF2 community. I've constantly been taking from it by trading, making friends, deriving entertainment from TF, etc. I feel as if it's my time to give back, and I'd like to begin server moderation.

Are you familiar with admin commands? Yes

Do you know any of our current staff members? No

If Yes, please tell us the their names. NONE

Please tell us when you usually play and are available. I usually play between 3:00 and 8:00 PST. However, with winter break and a new school semester (with different classes at different times) coming up, this is subject to change.

On what servers do you usually play? I usually play on the Blackwonder LA trade server, the server I'm applying for.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know. Pros:
-Extensive trading knowledge, familiar with all tiers of trading, as I have built my backpack from the ground up. Of course, extensive trade knowledge is paramount to helping run a trade server. Feel free to check out the charts of my backpack growth, and observe the trades I have made: http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198066311459 Additionally, I'm familiar with item values to the point where I suggest item prices for backpack.tf, with over 1,100 price suggestions accepted: http://backpack.tf/u/76561198066311459. Not only does this prove my knowledge, but it proves my loyalty to communities, as my very first price suggestion was accepted nearly 3 years ago.
-Have moderator experience, avidly mod for InedibleKirby's twitch.tv livestream:
-Years ago, I began my own group. Unfortunately, it's dead now, but more experience under my belt I suppose: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FoVyse
-I'm nearly a polyglot! I speak fluent English and Spanish (passed the AP exam, can provide proof if necessary). I am also in the process of learning Japanese (I'm in Japanese 1 currently) and I can read all of the Hiragana.

Cons:
-I've been in the Blackwonder community for a rather short time, having played on the trade server for about 2 months and having been foruming for roughly 2 weeks.
-I have no Blackwonder staff members there to vouch for me; this is a con for obvious reasons.

Contact:
-InedibleKirby, the livestreamer I moderate for: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198065470682/
-Former Sourcraft owner: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198065470682/

How would you go about punishing a hacker/spammer/simple rulebreaker...etc.? -Cheater: I would begin recording a demo to back up my suspicions. Once I believe I have obtained sufficient evidence, I would permanently ban the cheater from Blackwonder servers, as perpetuating a bad name for Blackwonder would be simply unacceptable.
-Spammer: I would give the spammer(s) a fair, clear warning, making sure they have understand what I said before proceeding. Should they continue, I would apply a mute/gag for about 15 minutes or so, or when I genuinely believe they have learned their lesson. Should they continue further, I would mute them for a couple of hours. This would increase until it snowballs into a permanent mute/gag.
-Simple Rulebreaker: This one is a toughie. It really comes down to what rule they broke, and how "hard" they broke it.

Applied too soon which is a huge con for me, apart that, everything else seems to be correct although you should extend more your punishing policies, even more if you're trying to be an admin in Jailbreak.
i also recommend you to talk a bit about yourself, tell us your hobbies, general useful information... i.e if you know more than one language (very useful when dealing with foreign players)

PD: the correct SteamID format we ask for is: STEAM_0:1:53022865

Haven't spoke to you before, so this will only be based on your forum activity and your application.

Now before I go into pros and cons, you have even listed some of the cons. Did you not think maybe you shouldn't list them and instead of applying, fix the cons? Go and talk to some staff, join us on Discord and have a chat for a few weeks, or just listen in. There are so many ways you can resolve that con, you just have to talk to us. Your activity is also low on the forums compared to other people.

Not sure if this is correct, but the 2 steam profiles you provided were the exact same.

No bans, mutes or gags on record.

But on to the pros and cons.

Pros:
- Good knowledge of trading.
- Active on LA Trade.
- Application has some effort to put into it.

(Application has a good amount of time put into it and is thought through in most areas, but to make it easier on the eye could you just format it a little bit, especially in your punishment section.)

Cons:
- Lack of activity on the forums.
- Doesn't know any staff, so it's hard to get feedback from people who have experience with him.
- Hasn't talked to any of the staff before, so we can't really tell much about him.

Neutral:
- No reports. ( Not sure if this is a really big issue, as I don't do trade servers and no idea if there are a lot of rule breakers on it like on JB and Orange.)

Overall I will stay Neutral for now to see if you work on your cons

I really like the application itself, it includes a lot of relevant and useful information and does make you seem incredibly qualified. Unfortunately, with no available feedback about in-game behaviour whatsoever (aside from your chatlogs, which are admittedly impeccable), the application is all we've got. There have been situations in the past where the applicants' behaviour in-game hasn't reflected what they claim in their app.

I see you've only ever really played on one server, and with a total playtime of only about 18 hours, but that will obviously increase over time. I think you should have waited just a tad bit though. If there had been a system in place where you'd only have permissions for the one server you had applied for, you'd probably get accepted on the spot, but here you receive permissions on every single one of the 175 servers regardless of which ones you've played on, so having tried out a slightly broader range of servers would be useful.

All you really need to do community-wise is get around a bit, and although there may not be too many interesting discussions to participate in on the forums for the time being, exploring Discord and having a chat is always a really nice thing to do.

Many thanks for the feedback, Ben! Something I'd like to contest is your feedback regarding my activity. I don't believe I've been inactive on the forums, I'm just a newer member. Also, to answer your question about ironing out my cons, I'm currently working on those. I reckon they'll take some time to iron out though. In any case, I included them not because I am insane, but I'd like to have some degree of transparency with the Blackwonder community and myself.

Thanks for the feedback, Viking!

Allow me to clarify myself, I was meaning that you are new to the community, which makes you look inactive due to your amount of posts/time on the forums, and as you are new you have very little posts compared to others in your situation, then it doesn't make it look to good. Which I should have explained which is my fault.

However I still think you should have worked on those cons before applying to show some initiative.

Ah, thank you for clarifying. Yeah, admittedly, now that I look back, I should have worked on those. Though they may have taken some time, I think it would have been well worth it, and would have given my application the extra kick it needed. What I was trying to do with the whole cons thing was show that I'm a candidate who, while maybe risky to contract, is well worth running the risk of contracting.

I am currently writing this on my phone because I got no working pc so please excuse me for any spelling errors.
Pros
You put effort into your application

Cons
You're very new to the community
Very little hours in the servers
You don't know any admins
This is what put me off from ever giving the -support when you first joint the site you posted constant almost spam comments on threads most of stuff which on my eye wasn't very relevant to a new member I think you just spam commented so that you could make an application but then put off a few days so that you could apply and look legitimate.

I am sorry if I seem abit negative on this application but I honestly don't think you would make a good admin and will work well with others since you don't know any admins in the community and for the reason which I stated above I am putting a -SUPPORT

Just mentioning that even though the application is up and running. All tips mentioned can still be applied. Thus your forum activity can be improved, do not spam to up your amount. But you can create reports of rulebreakers tohe show us how well you are aware with rules (valid reports prove this) and thatthen you really want to help the community. Leave thoughts behind on suggestions. Try adding admins who have replied already, talk to them. Or get onto Discord, the habbitat of most admins and regulars. It's wrong to message people saying 'give me support' but it is not wrong to let us get to know you so we can give you that support that is needed. x

Don't worry about the negativity, not taking anything personally. All of those are fair criticisms, except for that last one. Just because a thread isn't necessary relevant, it doesn't mean I can't derive enjoyment from them. Also, while having chemistry with other staff members is key, there are never any staff on the LA Trade server, my main focus anyway. Of course, this doesn't excuse me for not getting to know the admins, but I thought I'd put that out there. As always, thank you for the feedback!

I would only echo the same concerns that other admins have voiced. And while I cannot say +SUPPORT. I do want to say that I appreciate how you take the critique so productively. I would recommend joining the discord and having some casual conversation with the other users. And of course, filing reports is a great way to show that you understand the rules of the servers.

-I'm nearly a polyglot! I speak fluent English, Spanish (passed the AP exam, can provide proof if necessary), and some Punjabi from home. I am also in the process of learning Japanese (I'm in Japanese 1 currently) and I can read all of the Hiragana.

Cons:

Be active for 2 more weeks and be active on the servers and I think that would make up for everything

Alright, time to rate this app. It took a lot of time doing the research, so you better appreciate it.

Disclaimer: Since I do not know you personally, I will only rate the application and everything around.

Pros:
+ application looks very fine
+ No bans or comm blocks
+ usually a nice and rational behavior
+ remind people of the rules and files reports (starting a week ago)
+ (clean chat history)
+ plenty of time spent on the trade server since the time he started being active
+ has lots of trade experience
+ we need admins for the trade server

Cons:
- does not know anyone of the admins
- been only on the server starting on the 23th of November
- has been less than a month on this forum, even if you were very active until now
- had made (and makes) lots of post, status updates and profile comments and necrobumped a few threads shortly after joining. This could be seen as spam. But most of them were not without meaning, so it's only a minor thing.

All in all, the pros outweigh the cons. But what stops me from giving you my support is the fact that no admins really knows you personally and vouch for you. For you it's important now to be patient and wait a bit until we can decide whether to give you the admin title or not. So get to know more admins and the other players from the different trade servers. Keep being active on the forum. For now, it my vote is NEUTRAL with pending towards +SUPPORT

Best of luck!

K. Thx. Bay. Malz

Ps: I heard you were a rich and smart Nigerian Overlord who sells his Smissmass 2014 unusuals. I could give you my very precious STRANGE BUFF BANNER for that, interested?

I'm not sure if there's much I could add. A lot of the more important points have been made. The only thing I want to highlight is the amount of suggestions on backpack.tf; it's very impressive. I like the show of dedication and the ability to put effort into things you feel passionate for. The only thing I can bring you down on is, like Ben mentioned, your attitude to your cons. It's much more appropriate to work on them instead of just listing them. Apart from that, and the cons listed by Malz, I have a good feeling about you. +Support.
