Why should we revoke your punishment?
I had plugged in my headset, thinking my computer would recognize my headset microphone, as it had done several times without a problem. It instead wanted to use my laptop microphone, which is broken and causes static to play. I was not aware of this problem until I went into settings and heard it. I soon fixed the problem, but because of me being unaware that I was using my laptop mic, I was muted.
