Completed """AFK""" timer

So there's no AFK timer currently. This leads to inbalanced teams because the enemy team is either all AFK or hiding in spawn.

I suggest some sort of plugin or similar that if a player fails to go past the spawn doors within 2 minutes they are kicked.

This is different to a pure AFK plugin, as it prevents:

- Actually AFK people (standing still, easy to detect)
- Actually AFK people who are dicks (+left +forward in console_
- People who refuse to come out of spawn (probably comes under Rule #4 of the server, but without an admin the normal method of "shoot them until they play properly" stops working)

Multiple times a game there will be 2 people from one team out of spawn, and 10 people from the other out of spawn. It's really annoying.

I agree... Not only on Hightower but also on all servers...
Tho, sadly for some reason, Benedevil doesnt like the idea of some sort of AFK-Kicking Plugin
Requested the same over the last like half year and he still for some ununderstandable reason refuses to add one :T

Maybe instead of instantly kicking someone for being AFK, we could move them to spectator, so the population of the server is still high. However, if we require room on the server for someone else to join, as long as the plugin could tell the difference, maybe kick those who have been moved to spectator to allow someone active who is on. Kicking people might be the issue for Bene, but I'm not sure. But I guess that could be a solution to the problem.

Forcibly spectatoring them is fine as well. What matters is that they're not wasting slots on a team.

If it was 5 minutes or 10 I'd totally agree. I don't have a problem with someone who is away for 2 minutes, getting a snack, taking a piss or whatever. But someone who is away for 10 minutes while not in spectator is clearly not playing the game, maybe even forgot that it's running. (happened to me several times)

So basically, someone who is not in spectator and hasn't come out of spawn for 5-10 minutes should in my opinion be kicked or put in spectator and if the server is full people could come on and take their place.

Seems like a good idea, but as stated, two minutes is a bit excessive. I'd say four minutes before it moves you to spectator, and another minute or two before the AFK timer kicks you.

Should only kick you if room is required on the server, people join populated servers.

I'm planning on writing a custom AFK timer as I dislike how most of the ones that exist work, I just need to find some time to get around to it.

Agreed, although the amount of time before kick/move to spectator is a little bit short.

I've had numerous cases where i'd join a server populated by 6 players, only to find out that only one of them is actually doing anything at all.

Good idea, also if they were now to be moved to spectators then maybe a plugin that detects when someone tries to join and kick the spec person. (My lack of knowledge towards plugins might be detected here)
