Simple thing. It’s just weird how anyone can reply on reports and there are the occasional long threads of shit talking each other. It’d be better if mod reviews were a thing so useful stuff in reports can actually be seen rather than just blatant harassment.

Doing this only bottlenecks the process. It's standard procedure to reply to existing reports should you acquire more evidence regarding an individual, forcing users to wait for staff approval will just encourage them to make new threads on the same user. The threads can be locked if they start getting out of hand, and you can also report malicious posts (would not recommend abusing the latter though).

Then allow the OP to be exempt from the process then.

That’s silly because moderator review is also applied in other parts of the forums despite reports being the main one affected by it. Threads are usually locked way too late, or sometimes never. There’s countless examples and you of all people should know that.
If the only real problem is that it will force the OP to make more posts just make it so that OPs can reply to their own threads without the approval.

You aren't actually involved in the process which is why your suggestion is so obviously frivolous and a waste of time for the people that are.
