Was like that in the past. Is not like that any more, because regular people are often unhelpful and unfortunately overall it's the admin's opinions that are taken into account.

Anyone can comment on an app, only useful comments that are more than what was usually “I wuv u pwus swuppirt” are made public. Pleb votes weigh very little and are only used in each individual admins’ vote if the comment included some kind of evidence about an applicant.

Allowing anyone to comment isn't a good idea. It's best the way it is now because if someone decides to say something non-useful an admin can view their comment and decide to allow normal members to view it or not

What matters the most when you comment on a app is usually if your opinion is based solely on facts or because you are friends with the person applying, for that reason comments with no proof supporting the claim such as "+support, he is a great person" or "-support, he mic spams every round and I saw him hacking once" will be usually not on display for the rest of the non-admin players; but should the same comments have a valid proof, such as a video showing that he did in fact hack and mic spammed; then said comment would be accepted and your opinion would have a valid weight in the consideration whether the person is apt for being an admin.

The reason for such is to 1: If several people post whatever they consider to be valid we would see several posts containing just "+support" or similar with little valuable content; 2: if unrestrained those threads tend to evolve in to a conversation; 3 with less density but a higher quality we get a better overview of the applicant.

TL:DR: When you post something on the applicant's thread it will be there for the admins to see and if you truly want it to be considered as a valid input, then try to get some proof that supports your claim; such as: bans and comm blocks, demos, admin appeal and ban appeals of that person in other communities, etc...

I think anyone who does effort can post on admin applications. After all, deciding if someone is temperate, good with people, smart and such are all opinions.
Of course you can use source bans to show that someone is a troublemaker but things as staying calm is really opinion based. Even if there is proof of the person getting mad of a trivial matter doesn´t say anything because it might be a one time incident because of many possible reasons.
But of course the no effort posts don´t need to be shown to non staff members.

Honestly there is a pro and a con for this... to avoid shitposts like the staff previously said. But Bene said before that it is ok for people to give their opinions or support so its only right the replies that are genuine opinions and not conplete shitpost should be allowed.

I thought this thread was about the "ratings." Users can't do those. I know I'd certainly like to hit up applicants I don't particularly trust with a disagree rating, but I understand why users can't.

As for actually posting, we already can. The posts just have to be approved. I was around before this was put into place, and everybody just repeated the same thing over and over again. Arguments between users and applicants would break out. Granted, it showed us who wasn't ready to be admin when they participated in such arguments, but still, it was a cluster.

Users aren't allowed to rate applications because too many users were disliking applications for no good reason other than "I don't like them". Applicants shouldn't be disliked simply because they want to apply to help out the community a little bit more.

Just ignore them or just put positive ratings

We can ignore them. But the applicant may feel extremely discouraged to go on if they saw the amount of unnecessary dislikes by the community.

I rather not allow the public to rate because I don't want to see ratings like "Poop" or "What?", and especially "Dislike", just because they dislike/are confused of the applicant or the application. It's as good as allowing users to comment in application with random comments like "I've played with you once! +Support!"

So, no. I'm not with this change.

They can already comment, but the majority is just rambling nonsense. When player's comments are deleted, the admins can still see them. The information is not lost, it just doesn't clutter up applications.

we already have it where anyone can comment and we can see what you post and allow it to be seen if it actually has significant meaning to the app itself no need for the suggestion to remain
