Little after tick 5000 in the demo, some odd chat spam starts up. Is one person doing that, or are a bunch of people doing some kind of command I don't know about?

Yeah. I have seen this kind of thing before, still not sure what is the cause.
Only theory I have is that there is some kind of exploit to send empty messages or I am dumb and have no idea that this is a feature.

I haven't looked at the demo, but you can just press space bar and send the message.
If the chat clears completely every so often it can be a hack client.

I’ve tried the space bar thing before and it only works sometimes. Usually if it works once, then it will work for almost the entire game.

Yeah, that makes sense. When someone does something and someone copies, there is a high chance that half the server will end up doing that.

This has been fixed as there are no more reported issues, I've been on JB, done this in dead team chat, and the chat spam has not appeared as of so far.

update: it happened to me, I typed something and another 9 people did the same at the same time, doubt it's a coincidence
