I like the idea. However x-1 is a stupid name. Reverse Stats would a nice name as Vick suggested.

This was once brought up, I started on a "concept" of this but then there was this guy that said he wanted to do it.
That guy hasnt finished it in the last 2 months thou...

Who would do the balancing for irregular stats?
Cow Mangler 500:
-Does require ammo
-Alt-Fire: Doesn't fire a charged shot....
-Random critical hits?!?
-+20% damage to building
-Can be crit-boosted?!?
-hidden +12.3% reload speed bonus

The Rocket jumper (and sticky jumper if you will):

-200% max primary ammo an wearer?!?
+100% self damage inflicted
+100 damage bonus
Random Critical hits?!?
Wearer CAN VERY WELL carry the briefcase and Jack in pass the time

The B.A.S.E Jumper

Press "Jump" to not deploy your parachute?
Deployed Parachute fastens your decend???

The Rightenous Bison:

Does require ammo
Projectiles cannot penetrate players/can be airblasted
deals 500% damage to buldings (reverted 0.2 multiplier to 0.2 dividend = x5)

General buff banners:

Rage doesn't build trough damage done?
They basically don't provide buffs, and if they would provide debuffs....

The Beggar's bazooka

The Displicinary Action

On enemy hit: "provides" a debuff wich decreases movement speed?

Conniver's Kunai

On backstabs: Gives health to your victiim (??????????????)
+55 max hp

The dead ringer:

Cloak type: Feign life???

Leave a real Spy upon gaining health and lose invisibility, get more damage and move slower over a long period of time??

Alt-Fire: Turn visible, can attack while visible.
Not bumbing into enemies makes you slightly invisible to enemies?!?

Sapper:

Place on friendly buldings to slowly give life and activate them?
Placing a sapper removes disguise.
(Red tape: +100% damage, Enemy bulding construcion )

Other problems: Medigun? Scout drinkables, Heavy usables, Sniper's piss, Equipment items in general, the existance of the engineer...

Construction PDA: Sentry will build teleporter entrance, Dispenser will build teleporter exit, vice versa.

I don't think total opposites would work, obviously, like how I don't think all x10 stats are literally x10 but instead just ramped up stats.

Answering your 'spoiler', Alt-fire of Cow Mangler would shoot a weaker rocket that its fire heal player.
Base Jumper (when deployed) will make a weighdown, like in VSH.
Disciplinary Action will decrease movements if hit a teamate.
Conniver's Kunai will put your HP to 1 after backstab.

Beggar's Bazooka:
Can load up to 5 rockets (because 4 rockets (default) - 1 = 3 (Unmodded), so this one add one more rocket.
+20% Explosion Radius
Super precise
Can get ammo from dispensers

Dead Ringer:
-50% Reload speed
-40% camo time
+50% camo added after faking death
Can reload camo when invisible
+35% recharged getting ammo crates.

Cloak and Dagger
Recharges only moving or getting crates
Can't recharge automatically
Can get ammo when invisible

Lucas and I did ever so slightly start with this around the time the balance update suggestions were announced on the official blog and wanted to wait until the update launched before continuing, so that all stats would be up-to-date with the main game.

However, the more time passes the more you realize most weapons are actually completely uninteresting and/or illogical to modify without making whacky changes that actually have nothing to do with inverted stats. It's like how x10 has very few outright x10'd items, the creators only made it popular by making sure all weapons had some kind of unique stat and be at least 'technically viable', such as for instance the backburner's airblast only being 4 times as expensive and 100 times more forceful.

whilst the poll results were in favour it seems that no progress was ever made on this, i'll make it declined for now with posibility of being finished in the future potentially
