Closed Minecraft version?

Yeah, the Minecraft section is empty, so might as well get something going here.

What minecraft version do you like best/use and why?

Just a little curious.
I'll start:
Minecraft 1.8.9 and because 1.9 had the updated combat system. I have been playing 1.8.9 for the longest time, and now i see that 1.14 is out? WTH? Guess if it does come out I'll document my adventures discovering what 5 versions of Minecraft did to the game...

and the updated .9 combat system is good. It makes you think and process combat, instead of just running head first and spamming your sword like an idiot...
