Answered LR/DR question

I just remember this a few days ago and wanted to know.

Some time ago when i first started in JailBreak i became the warden on a freeday-style LR (i think it was tiny day or speed day)

After the 3 minutes almost all red still alive were in the main cell area, i then began giving a few orders just to see what would happen, a dead red then said i could not do that, i then replied
"i can give out orders, they just don't have to obey"
Somehow they all obeyed and the round ended as normal, and i gave LR.
A few dead reds got a little pissed about that since i did't know that death request was a thing back then,
and they said i had to do that instead.

I just wanna know : did i mess up back then and if yes : how bad?

The LR seems to be illegal due to "freeday-like-day", but if they knew that they don't have to obey you and still did so its their decision...
