(JB) How to survive HG as any class

So let's say some annoying dude got a Last Request, and instead of picking the much better LRs like Freeday, he chose Hunger Games. It's the fast-paced death match against Prisoners, and most of the meta is just whoever gets the lucky random crit. If you hate dying in Hunger Games, here is a strategy I came up with to probably help you survive it as in any class.

Scout: The Scout is a low-HP class, but is the fastest in the game and can outrun anyone at their normal speed. While you could use this for escaping fights, you are not going to fight effectively once the Warden says to go to the main cell area. The Boston Basher inflicts bleed damage, but you have to not miss, which is very common since, whenever fighting someone, they’re going to act like they have Scout's Crazy Legs and try to avoid getting hit. Sandman and Wrap Assassin balls do not work against teammates under friendly fire, so you are putting yourself at a disadvantage if you use them in Hunger Games.

Soldier: The Disciplinary Action is by far the worst melee for the Soldier, not only does it do -25% less damage than the Shovel, but it gives your teammates an advantage, as it boosts their speed, allowing them to build bhop and run anyway. The Equalizer is one of my favorites. No one wants to pocket me anyway (jk) and it does more damage the lower HP you have, so you can salvage an almost-lost battle with one swift hit. Just try not the default taunt.

Pyro: The Back Scratcher is the best for Pyro for the same reason. It has a less harsh healer penalty, and it always does +25% more damage than stock. The worst is the Axtingusher and the Postal Pummeler. You can't burn players unless some person hits them with the Sharpened Volcano Fragment, or they are a rebel and were burned by a Pyro.

Demoman: Seeing as Demoknight is far superior to a Demoman in Hunger Games. I'll only discuss which swords and shields are best. The Tide Turner is the best shield, as you can strafe when charging. Even though you can't charge as Demoman, you can build up a good bhop with correct timing. Any sword or melee besides the Ullapool Caber would be okay to use. The Eyelander is one of the best, as it gives you more health and speed for every head you take, but you lose -25 health and there are no random critical hits, you know, the entire meta of Hunger Games. What I like to do if there is any, is simply wait next to the AFK players, wait until FF turns on, then kill them, getting a few heads to start you off.

Heavy: As a Heavy main myself (actually I'm not because they don't exist, haha funny!) I won't go too harsh on the fact that Heavy is pretty bad in Hunger Games, but here we go anyway. The KGB is good if the Warden tells Prisoners to go to the cell area, and it's crowded, you can get some quick kills with the KGB to get critical hits, again the meta of Hunger Games as always. The Warrior's Spirit is okay too, but you should at least be competent and avoid being hit so you can get the boosts on killing someone. Any other melee besides stock or reskins are very questionable to use.

Engineer: Sorry Eureka Effect Engineers, but the teleportation is practically useless if Warden has closed cells and if the map has no secrets to get out of your cell (somehow). The Gunslinger gives a guaranteed hit after three hits, so you could hit an AFK player twice, and then anytime you hit someone, you get a Crit, a good way to start a fight.

Medic: As a Medic, your main goal is to team with a dominating player, then have that completely shattered when it is a custom Hunger Games with no teaming, and when there is just you and your pocket, and Warden says you must actively fight. So, not the best in Hunger Games.

Sniper: Same with Sniper. The Bushwacka is the worst melee, as you get less damage and no critical hits unless someone is Jarated, which could not happen as it requires ammo. The Cozy Camper heals you progressively, so it is a good choice if you want to survive an escape from a player.

Spy: Arguably the worst class in Hunger Games, you cannot backstab or crit with your knife. The best melee would be the stock knife, Spycicle, and YER are best as they don't give a health debuff.

General: Stay alive. If you have low HP and cannot escape, keep fighting. If you get a random critical hit, or if someone else has low HP, it could distract them. Never do lethal taunts, they do not work on teammates under friendly fire. The number one rule is of course....

If you dare disrespect Warden, you will always get random critical hit by your enemies! Warden Disrespect is KOS!

Anyway, at the end of the day, Hunger Games is a popular yet annoying LR whenever you don't win.
