In my opinion, if you don't know how to be warden, I'd recommend staying on red for a while and learning through experience how to be a warden, rather than jumping headfirst into the role. Also, you can't really "accidentally" give an LR, you gave an illegal freeday.
I'd recommend reading through the rules and staying on red, just to learn how to be a warden through experience.
