As the title suggests I believe that the 5 second timer before picking a random warden should be added back to give players the chance to force warden. While I see how this can be abused, I believe it lets people who strongly want to play warden the opportunity. What are your thoughts?

yes, i see people always try to force warden, but it usually does not work.

I believe it would be a good idea because it would be both beneficial to players and the system itself. If someone would volunteer to be warden (either because of fear of other blus becoming warden or because they want to be warden) then they have the ability to do so while both "taking the hit" for other blus who may not want to be warden (but should be willing to) and still having a system where a warden is still forced

I have no idea why this was ever removed in the first place. I have had played JB here for a long time and it has consistently been a great asset.

Honestly, if there are ways to abuse this system, just add it to the rules that abusing the system is against the rules, then players will report abusers.

Well I have seen people warden hogging which is annoying but can be stopped with a limit to how many times you can warden in a row.

I don't see why this suggestion wouldn't be beneficial on both ends. It has worked before, why shouldn't it work now? Due to provided reasons above I think it would make a good addition. And I think people know about warden hogging by now so even if someone does warden hog we usually yell/scream at them to unwarden and they learn and stop warden hogging after that.

But please bring back the /fire ability to fire warden and making him ineligible to be warden for the whole map(60 mins). This would balance the game and prevent any person who is unwilling to be a warden becomes the warden again (when there are no mods or admin) if the timer were to put back.

there is a fire mechanic, but I am not sure about the part of going warden for the round. the command is !fire.

Yes I know it is in the game but I like the old !fire where a fired warden cannot be warden again for the rest of the map. This can decrease the chances of getting an "unwilling to be warden" person.

Honestly, I like it the way it is, the entire point of BLU is to be willing to play warden, so how is it a bad thing if the system picks a warden automatically. It speeds up rounds and throws everyone into the action rather than just a 5-second delay to the round
If you really played warden 5 times in a row you can unwarden so no biggie.
But the firing part I get, if wardens fired he shouldn't be able to play warden for the rest of the map.

The point of playing blue is to prevent others from rebelling and making sure that the prisoners stay in line. While I believe it is important to make sure guards are willing to become warden, that function is still in the game if no one wardens within the 5 seconds; which happens a lot more often than you think.

You shouldn't have a choice when playing blue, you MUST be willing to play warden.
Experience is the best teacher so incompetent blues should be able to learn, one of the only ways is to play warden themselves (maybe not getting teambans)

Most of the time someone forces Warden like a little bitch so no. The system is fine the way it is.

I just noticed the "Restrict players to once only every other round" answer choice. I don't think this one would be a good idea due to the rule of warden hogging already being present. If anything, have the system automatically restrict it for more than three times in a row. But in a case the previous warden would die then I think the system would act funny with having a blu try to force warden there.

Your rationale makes no sense to me. How would 5 seconds delay the round? Wouldn’t prisoners rather have 5 seconds taken away and the possibility of a good warden being picked rather than have 5 extra seconds of a bad one? Also, no one forcing happens a lot more often than you would think. Inevitably, it will happen that no mics and bad wardens will be on blue. I’m sure everyone’s been there. But that’s why we have staff members and donors that actively play the game.
