Why were you punished?
Apparently my spray is "NSFW" though it's not showing anything NSFW, it's just a spray that is more suggestive but other than that the character DOES have clothes on. I've used this spray forever and other servers didn't have any issues with it. If you want I can share the image just to show what it is

Why should we revoke your punishment?
Honestly, I think it's been long enough, especially for a first time "offense" (even though it wasnt nsfw), forever is a bit much for a single case. I have not had any issues on the servers with anyone at all, because I'm not one of the people who just cause issues, I just play to play thanks to casual servers being flooded with bots T_T

But I would greatly appreciate if my spray ban was revoked, plus I've seen other people who have sprays super gross.

The spray isn't NSFW in the first place, the ban was unreasonable from the start from someone who was only a child when they banned me in the first place. Like I mentioned I can literally show you the picture I use as a spray and prove it isn't NSFW. A 14 year old saw my spray and didn't like it, so he or she considered it "NSFW" when it's not, y'all have people who have sprays that are actual super nsfw but they never get spray banned, I know because I play on the 2fort and dodgeball server often and see them, but I don't report them because they don't bother me due to the fact I can literally just disable sprays, ignore it, or go with the fact that nsfw don't offend me enough to report someone for an image I can avoid.

Secondly, where do you see it asking me to remove the spray? Because as far as I see I don't see anything like that up there. This makes me think of a scene of police pulling a guy over because they didn't like the color of his car lol.

Just because one person doesn't like a double caked up Isabelle doesn't mean make up an excuse to ban the person for it. And yes again, like I said already several times, the image is NOT NSFW. No sexual parts are shown, no messy stuff on the image, just suggestive but not inappropriate.

We talked briefly in DMs, but to summarize it here too - Yes, it's kind of insane for any game to allow user-uploaded images to be placed anywhere. It begs for abuse.

We could disable it entirely, but instead we decide "Is this picture something people want to see?" If the answer is no, spraybanning the user does not interfere with any other part of their own game, but makes it marginally more tolerable for other players who don't want fetish art, shock images, or racist walls of text shoved in their face.

And with that, deciding if it's something people want to see or not should come with taking screenshot proof that the image placed is against any of the rules. As mentioned in DMs, regardless if the moderator or admin is underaged, they should know what they are getting into on a TF2 server where people can post sprays and talk about racist or other "offensive" chatter in text/voice chat. You are literally signing yourself up to have to deal with inappropriate content, and screenshotting it to post it in the discord as evidence would be greatly helpful for cases that only get mentioned years later or so, that along with taking into consideration that it's been 4 years, what are the chances the person who is spray banned has the same spray? First time offense shouldn't be forever in my opinion.

Yes, you could disable sprays, as you said "I don't think your ability to spray this image increases your enjoyment of the game either way" but yet I've seen lots of people enjoy checking out and or having fun being able to turn the 2Fort sewers into an art gallery of traumatizing experience for boys and girls of all ages. While most people would ignore the spray, some would go out their way to play hall monitor and report any and everything they see and hear.

TF2 isn't a place for kids in the first place, plus even the kids on the server sometimes are little gremlins with their own super NSFW sprays and swearing at least 100 times everytime they speak because their parents are asleep or not home lol

But like I said before, my spray isn't NSFW, and if "Suggestive" sprays are really within that threshold then someone might need to learn the difference between NSFW and SUGGESTIVE, at least as far as I know, nsfw is showing ALL the glory, bits and everything, suggestive is just like... bikini girl calendar or something, making suggestive poses but not showing anything private part wise.

So instead of keeping this back and forth debate going, can you revoke my spray ban considering I've not done anything against the rules on the server what so ever? Or am I going to stay spray banned because you think that I have no enjoyment over being able to spray pictures on the wall to distract the enemy long enough for me to backstab them?

It's not on us to provide proof to 'keep you banned' - it's on you to provide an image that is acceptable for posting.

Spraybans are, with extremely rare exceptions, always removed upon appeal. This removes the need to store and catalogue 4 years+ worth of content.

The reason this appeal has not been resolved is because you are giving the impression that you will just use the same image, which would just get you spraybanned again. From your description of the spray, I don't think you'll be able to convince anyone that your image in particular should exist on the servers.

I'm posting this in the hopes that future appeals can benefit from our discussion.

1. Put it in your appeals form that you need a picture of proof that you changed your spray, otherwise don't ask for me to provide a picture of me changing it when anyone can literally just do that then change it back. If the appeal form didn't ask for it, why are you?

2. I'm giving off an impression? Bro the person who even spray banned me doesn't remember, and I'm TELLING you that the image is NOT nsfw, along with me LITERALLY TELLING YOU I CAN PROVE ITS NOT. But you are being so butthurt about seeing it for what reason? I don't know, but normally if someone is providing evidence to back up their claim, someone with more than two braincells would accept to see the proof rather than go off of "You're not giving the impression" WHAT? That sounds like some lgbt shit right there bruh.

3. It aint about convincing anyone, y'all mofos had a 14 year old CHILD who didn't like the spray and spraybanned me for an image that isn't NSFW but yet y'all clowns got dozens of people with sprays that are actual porn just running around freely. Some other chump in the dodgeball server had a fucking furry foot fetish spray and not a single person reported that, nor did any admins just randomly stumble across it.

4. Either do your job the right way or resign and let someone with more common sense handle these issues, because clearly you aren't the best in handling situations that are simple to deal with.

Guy gets spray banned because a single person felt uncomfortable by something he marked as "NSFW" when it isn't. There was no discussion of this amongst the staff, no review, no proof provided to let other staff know if it was or wasn't NSFW, they just saw the ban and went with it. Four years later the guy who was wrongly spray banned comes by to request being unbanned and he gets told that he has to leave an impression and convince others that he is using a different spray.

And what's actually funny is that who's to say what spray I had four years ago, sure I said I kept the same image but who's to know If I did or didn't except me? Because y'all don't collect proof other than a "Oh he was banned on this year, ok anyway.."

Maybe y'all should hire staff that are 16+ and aren't overly sensitive on seeing thighs in a picture. I'm not posting any pictures that I changed it, because it's not NSFW or sexual at all, maybe another admin can take over because you surely is on some clown stuff.

1. It's very convenient that you use this as a justification and gloss over the general community rules- which ask users to do as they're told: https://blackwonder.tf/wiki/rules/. We are asking for this because whether or not you think children should stay away from the servers, children do in fact use the server. The nature of F2P games (TF2 included) is that they attract tons of kids, because they are free and kids don't work. This is to try and keep minors safe.

2. You can easily prove this by posting the image, but you still haven't done so.

3. Ultimately, server moderation is heavily reliant on moderators. These moderators are volunteers- who are only able to volunteer their spare time. They often balance moderating with school, work, family, and many other quotidian obligations. This is why we rely on reports as well. If a moderator doesn't see it and it goes unreported, it doesn't mean it's okay; it just means an offender got lucky.

4. This point and the general air of disrespect for absolutely no reason is enough for me to decline this appeal. All of this is no way to speak to anybody, let alone volunteers who generously donate their time. I suggest you re-appeal after you've had some time to simmer down.
