Have you managed servers previously? No
On what servers do you usually play on and which one would you like to moderate?
Usually the 2fort/Hightower US ones, but I also like to spend time on dodgeball and deathrun.
Why would you like to become a moderator?
I've been wanting to partake in a leadership role for a video game that I regular for quite some time, and TF2, as painful as it can sometimes be, is the community I feel I can resonate with and or deal with the best. I spend a majority of my playtime in TF2 on these servers, and I feel it'd be a great opportunity to get to know Blackwonder people more and make new friends. I'm familiar with some of the people that regular the Hightower servers, but I don't see moderators too often on my active servers, so I think I'd be a good candidate to fill that gap.
Do you know and have spoken to any of the current staff members? No
How often do you play TF2?
At least two or three times every week and about two hours each session, though it varies depending on whether or not I have exams that week. I typically play around 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM US Central or 9:00 PM to 12:00 PM US Central. Pretty much any time during weekends.
Please give us your ideal way of punishing players, specific to the server you want to moderate
A question that largely depends on context- type of infraction, their persistency, and their methods, but these are situations that often occur on my active servers. Harassment/offensiveness will be given one or two warnings, then followed by a mute/gag if it doesn't stop, which should last for a good ten to fifteen minutes. If it continues past that, it'll be a kick. Another example would be an issue that is very common on the servers I play on, spawn camping. Similar to before, I'll call it out a couple times if it continues to happen. If I notice a specific player/group of players going out of their way to do it, and have been doing it constantly, then I'll kick them. Cheaters (once enough evidence has been obtained to confirm they are cheating) will be banned immediately. The rules for the TF2 servers clearly state no offensiveness, spawn camping, spamming, cheating, or anything along those lines, and my actions for these situations I think are apt enough to get the point across.
Is there any other information you would like us to know about?
As for gaming experience, I've played a large number of mainly FPS games if you want an idea of where I'm coming from. I still regularly play Titanfall 2, Halo, Doom, Quake, as well as being an active member in those communities. I'm not going to pretend I'm an endless well of charisma or that I'm a social expert, but I would like to believe that I am a reasonable person. I can take things seriously when need be, but most of the time I try to take a relaxed approach to situations. While I haven't acted as a staff member in many previous game communities, I'm confident that professionalism and rationality, that of which I can provide, will be helpful. Thank you for reading this, and I hope to hear back soon.
