Congress is just gunna put it right back or they are going to lose their jobs. Don't expect this to last long. Furthermore, my isp is only going to throttle YouTube and Netflix, and I just pirate all my movies anyways

Edit: To clarify, congress can get paid by isp's, but they can't get paid if they don't have a job. People who don't vote to put net neutrality back probably won't be voted back into office, which is most likely enough of a deterrent. We'll probably get it back soon.

Edit2: Also to clarify, people are over reacting to the whole thing imo. The repealing of net neutrality just allows isp's to discriminate against types of traffic. All this means is they're going to give you less download speed on stuff that takes the most bandwidth, i.e. movies and videos. It isn't the end of the world, everyone is just freaking out and making it a big deal because of muh Netflix. (Have you seen Reddit? They're acting like it's the end of the internet.)

The fight absolutely isn’t over, but it’s sad that it’s even come to this. We still have a chance to make a difference.

I'm not too concerned. 8/10 of Americans want Net Neutrality to be a thing. This means, many, many, MANY, people are going to be threatening congress to not vote for them next time the election rolls around. It won't stick.

I'm more concerned with Ajit Pai going online acting like he's some kind of comedian while actively being paid by large companies to screw everybody over.

This makes me want to stare directly at the sun for hours on end.

Everyone is definitely over-reacting and acting like the internet is dying or something. It's really not, so calm the fuck down. 90% of everyone who goes around saying rip NN thinks all it means is that you have to pay to visit websites which isn't even true. Re-watch todays meeting and conclusion (after they got swatted LOL)

Thing is, your ISP can throttle connections and make it cost money to access websites, such as YouTube. It could cost, say for example, $19.99/mo just to access YouTube. Want to watch a video, pay up. It’s not the end of the world, it just isn’t looking great for us right now.

EDIT: Also, apparently almost 80% of U.S. citizens are against Net Neutrality, making it even more difficult to not be repealed.

Against it being repealed, not against it. Net neutrality was already in place, they repealed it today. Since 80% of people want net neutrality, I doubt it will stay repealed for long.

Relax Trump has to sign it then it has to pass through Congress, and if Congress has any brains they would not pass it.

Seventeen states are now suing the FCC over the Net Neutrality ruling.

There's no way the Net Neutrality repeal is going to stick around. Extremely liberal states are working together with extremely conservative states. Haven't seen that in a while.

That's less than a day after the FCC voted to repeal Net Neutrality. I'm sure many many more states will join in the lawsuit against the FCC as time goes on. Even if they don't, its a multistate lawsuit, not a vote.

We didn't lose. There was a 0% chance that the people in the FCC were going to suddenly decide to stop being corrupt. This, alongside the large amount of people against repealing, tells me that everything is going to be okay. Even better, Ajit Pak very well could be asked to step down. That's just a dream scenario, though.
