You wake up with a burst of cold sweat, your left ear hurts like crazy. A sharp pain, like a knife has entered it. You quickly head to the bathroom, holding over your ear as you run over to it. You flip the lightswitch and look into the mirror and you see a trickle of blood from your ear. You glance at the clock in the corner, it reads 3:34 AM. You're worried but you don't want to wake up your parents at this time of night. You wash it off and head back to bed, thinking nothing of it. The next morning you wake to the scream of your mother, calling for you father to come into the room. You jolt up and ask her whats wrong but she just says you need to get to the hospital, now. Your father enters and drops his coffee, as he gasps loudly. You all rush downstairs to the car, your mom says it'll be okay and the doctors will take care of it, you all enter the car and start driving. You are confused and rest your head on your palm. Then you feel it. A massive bulge of what feels like paper-thin skin over your left ear, your hand retorts quickly and you shout a couple of swear words. You rub it again and then you feel it rip slightly, a clear fluid pours out of it in waves and the pain in your ear is back, this time it is almost unbearable. You collapse onto the car floor, your parents are screaming your name and you can feel the car speeding up but you can almost not hear anything. The liquid is no longer clear but a bright red, blood is gushing out of it now. Then you feel something inside your ear, it's crawling and creeping inside. You feel it's feet against your skin, it tickles and leaves with a stick from the mysterious clear liquid and blood. You're squirming around in agony and you feel the car come to a quick stop. Arms lift you up to a strecher and you are rushed into a room with bright lights. Then everything goes black. You wake up, dazed and confused and the same bright lighting is there, this time shining directly into your eyes, you squeeze them shut and you hear shots and yells, saying "The patient is awake doctor!" then you hear a low, rumbling voice. "Continue, it's too late to stop now," then you feel something cold, metal, reaching inside of your left ear. It hurts so much but you are weak and tired, you feel it clasping onto something and then there is a ripping noise and something is slowly taken out of your ear. You see it slightly as they put it onto a clear plate. A massive bug with hundreds of legs, covered in crimson red blood, your blood. The nurses have gone pale but they continue, you fall back into the hazey dreamless sleep once more. This time you wake to your parents by your bedside, talking to a man. You don't know what they are talking about. You can't hear anything. Your parents notice you are awake and rush over to you, hugging you gently. Saying things you can't understand, you can't hear them, why can't you hear them? You try to scream, help me you say but you hear no sound escaping your mouth, you can feel the words exiting but there is nothing. And there will never be anything ever again.
